that his mission is working. After 30 years in the fashion design industry,
Angelo followed his heart and launched his own exquisitely crafted
Italian-made line at The Collections at WSA in 2006. Now, after several
well received seasons, his distinctive high heeled pumps, sandals, boots
and handbags are found in specialty boutiques and high-end retail stores
across the country. His passion for creativity has resulted in feminine,
elegant and graceful creations that empower a woman’s psyche and enhance a
woman’s appearance in the most enjoyable way.
appreciation of beauty in design and fashion began early for Angelo.
Growing up on a farm in southern Italy
and the youngest of seven children, he witnessed his mother and sister
hand-craft beautiful wedding gowns in his hometown of Polistena in Calabria. The local
cobbler Lorenzo “Il Calzolaio” lived across the road from the Anastasio’s
home and he was equally influential in shaping Angelo’s keen design
family moved to America
in 1966 and Angelo’s high-level of skill on the soccer field earned him a
full scholarship to Adelphi University in New York. He graduated in 1973 with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Languages and Business Administration
and began playing professional soccer with the New York Cosmos. The roster
included many famous players and Angelo enjoyed the opportunity to play
alongside the legendary Pelé.
venture into the business arena began in 1978 when he was hired by Adidas
for a position in the marketing department. His charisma, talent and
creativity enabled a steady climb up the corporate ladder and his various
titles included; Manager of Marketing, Design and Merchandising, Director
of Promotions for Global Sport and Entertainment and Angelo left the
company in 1992 as Unit Business Manager for Global Events.
exciting next step was being selected for the position of Vice President of
Entertainment and Promotional Events for the 1994 Soccer World Cup USA.
For the next two years Angelo was instrumental in organizing marketing,
public relations and the many large events of this renowned tournament
while working closely with major corporations and entertainment entities.
With the completion of the World Cup behind him, Angelo became the Vice
President of Design at Diadora America. He continued his
steady climb in the industry as he headed the Design and Development team
for Fila, Inc. in the US
and overseas for the next five years. In 2000 he became Vice President of
Design and Development with Reebok International, Inc. and in 2003 Angelo
went to the Warnaco Group Inc. as Creative Director and Vice President of
Design and Development where he oversaw numerous lines of apparel.
